In melbourne.

So this past week I've been in Christchurch New Zealand. Spent a day in Kaikoura and Hanmer springs. There are wild seals everywhere in Kaikoura. I got real close to one, but then he roared at me, so I booked it. They can be so cute and so damn scary at the same time. On new years eve I flew to melbourne. I arrived here yesterday as it is actually Jan 1st here in Australia. When I arrived here yesterday, it was +36. Unreal! I'm currently sharing a house with 6 people. I feel like I'm on an episode of the real world. The housemates are pretty awesome though and there are actually three canadians in the house. So counting me there are 4 canadians, one guy from wales and an australian. Another person is coming monday, should be interesting. I'll be here for a week and then I'm off to St.Kilda for a bit. Yesterday I spent new years, in the pouring rain, at federation square not far from melbourne central. It was absolutely nuts. People everywhere. Everyone gets wasted off wine/goon, its hilarious. There were fireworks going off the tops of every building including federation square. The architecture of that place is amazing. Yesterday I went grocery shopping and was extremely appalled at how expensive everything is. Eggs were like 6$ a carton. By the way, they don't refridgerate their eggs, they have them in an isle right beside the cleaning supplies. Weird huh?

Anyway, I'm off to the mall to get a cell phone and open a bank account so I can get a job.

Off for 5 months.

So my journey has started. I'm in vancouver right now and will be here till christmas day. I fly to new zealand on christmas day. Its a 17 hour flight nonstop from vancouver to auckland, NZ. Then I take a short flight from auckland to christchurch nz where I'll be staying with Joshy for a few weeks. Then I'll fly to melbourne, Australia to meetup with my good friend Steve Boyd. I plan on finding a place and a job out there and working for a few months and then heading back to NZ.

I started off my trip by missing my flight to vancouver, ugh. Luckily it only cost me 50$ to catch the next flight on standby.

I booked my tickets to New Zealand/Australia yesterday. I leave on christmas day!

This blog might just get a bit more alive and exciting.

I am ecstatic!

I'll be in new zealand for a month or so, visiting friends, and then its off to australia till may. Gonna hangout and work in melbourne for a bit, then go to brisbane, sydney, byron bay and wherever else I decide to go. I also might go to thailand for a month, in may, before I have to fly back to vancouver for Avrinder's wedding.

My little sister Tina is meeting up with me in australia at the end of january... which just makes this trip even more exciting. On top of that, a whole bunch of other amazing people will be there at the same time I am. Steve Boyd, Jess OK, Andrew, Kyle, Jeremy, this trip is going to be life changing. I know it!

I also know I'll come back so dead broke; at least it'll be worth it.
